| | Between modern jazz, hard bop, and lyrical improvisation, this project brings together two European heavyweights into a captivating, emotionally charged sonic experience full of virtuosity and joy in playing. At its core are Italian pianist Antonio Faraò and French trumpeter Stéphane Belmondo, whose musical dialogue is both energetic and sensitive. Driven by an exceptional chemistry, a sound emerges that respects tradition while shining with a contemporary glow. An album that doesn’t just play jazz, but tells a story.
Stéphane Belmondo began his musical career on the accordion before switching to the trumpet, where he developed his unmistakable tone. Shaped by the Parisian scene and influenced by greats such as Éric Le Lann, he established himself as a key figure in European jazz from the late 1980s onward. His career includes appearances in renowned formations such as the Orchestre National de Jazz, as well as numerous collaborations with international icons. Together with his brother Lionel Belmondo, he shaped the modern French hard bop sound over decades and received multiple awards, including the Prix Django Reinhardt and Les Victoires du Jazz. Antonio Faraò is considered one of the most important jazz pianists of his generation. Born in Rome, he gained early recognition for his technical brilliance and emotional depth. His career is marked by worldwide collaborations with legends such as Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, and Marcus Miller. His style combines rhythmic sophistication, melodic elegance, and a distinctive expressiveness that has made him a sought-after artist internationally. On their joint album “Do It!”, the creative synergy of these two exceptional musicians unfolds in full depth. Supported by a top-tier rhythm section featuring Thomas Bramerie on double bass and Benjamin Henocq on drums, an organic and vibrant sound takes shape. Between free improvisations and finely crafted compositions, a musical dialogue develops—one that thrives on spontaneity, respect, and intense communication—an impressive statement of modern jazz artistry. | | Track list | | Track | Artist | Title | | | | | 1 | Antonio Farao, Stephane Belmondo | Otti | | | 2 | Antonio Farao, Stephane Belmondo | Remembering Duke | | | 3 | Antonio Farao, Stephane Belmondo | Around | | | 4 | Antonio Farao, Stephane Belmondo | My Little Dancer | | | 5 | Antonio Farao, Stephane Belmondo | One Finger Snap | | | 6 | Antonio Farao, Stephane Belmondo | Joey´s Smile | | | 7 | Antonio Farao, Stephane Belmondo | Do It! | | | 8 | Antonio Farao, Stephane Belmondo | Melancholy Of Rita | | | 9 | Antonio Farao, Stephane Belmondo | Sweet | |
