|  | Record an album in trio with a piano, a guitar and a trumpet, no jazzman had dreamed neither of doing it nor using this very particular instrumental formula! The pianist and composer Thierry Maillard had this bright idea and dared this singular and risky musical adventure. Basically, the first idea was simple, it consisted in producing music that could be described as "chamber jazz" without rhythmic foundation. Do without a double bass and drums, in order to suggest the swing in a different way: an underground swing, coupled with an invisible groove, but perceptible! The second idea was to summon close friends, musicians close to him, virtuoso adventurers who like to take risks and who are not afraid of anything. The Basque guitarist Sylvain Luc and the Var trumpeter Stéphane Belmondo were chosen without any hesitation, because it is with them and with no one else that the Ile-de-France resident Thierry Maillard wanted to carry out this project. The third bright idea of Thierry Maillard was that each member of the trio bring compositions and thus participate fully in the development of the music. Although he wrote more than half of the songs in this repertoire, Thierry Maillard, instigator of this project, seems to be the natural leader of this extraordinary trio. And yet, listening to this atypical album, the music is so fluid and consistent from one song to another and the investment of the musicians such that no one is particularly successful or puts himself forward
